Import MYSQL Database via Cpanel Terminal

This is a useful feature when the file cannot be managed by PHPMyAdmin. When Importing a database and it takes more than 2 minutes, then use this method

  1. Create a database, user and give users the rights ( Copy and paste these values)

  2. Upload the .SQL file to the Home directory public_html  Use ftp or File manager . Verify via cd /home/username/public_html

  3. Use the command below.
     
    mysql -p -u username_user username_db < myqsl_name.sql
  4. When prompted for a password, use the information from (1) above

 

Congratulations you have now imported your SQL file into your database.
